A caste certificate is an important proof which is an essential document.It is required for all communities.In Goa,issuing of caste certificate began in 1950.It will be issued for all members in a family.It is provided directly by state government.
Those who get caste certificate from goa state government are eligible to get all facilities provided by  State government.It is also used as a proof while applying for other important documents.
There are some backward castes in our society before constitution was formed.When constitution was written some benefits were provided to those backward castes.For those people caste certificate is a required document.To utilize extra benefits provided by government they should keep this certificate along with them as a proof for their caste.
In our community,scheduled castes and scheduled tribes are considered as a backward castes.To encourage them in all fields government is providing all benefits for them.In government jobs,reservation of seats in legislature,fee of educational institutions etc they will get exemption in all cases.Especially for  SC/ST/OBC citizens should have their caste certificate.

Procedure for Goa Caste Certificate North & South region:

Applicant should apply at e-suvidha centres in offices of sub-divisional magistrates.applicant should permanently reside goa to apply for certificate.After applying an acknowledgment receipt will be given to  applicant.On that receipt,date of issuing of certificate will be printed.
Documents required for Goa Caste certificate application:
An applicant should provide necessary documents along with application.application should be filled in a prescribed format.list of documents to be given are:
•    Certificate from Samaj concerned.
•    Parents’ Caste Certificate issued by prescribed Authority.
•    An affidavit in prescribed form (Annexure E).

Application is sent to concerned Talathi , asking for his report within 3 days.Mamlatdar will issue  Caste Certificate within 2 days of getting Talathi’s report.
Concerned Department:
District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate of area where candidate and/or his family permanently resides.
Concerned Authority:
Mamlatdar of respective collector office.
